Book Review: Break Through

Imagine a self-help book with God's fingerprints all over it. A self-help book for those who live in a life of codependency or abusive relationships. Well, Dr Tim Clinton has written that book! His newest book, published by Worthy Publishing is entitled "Break Through: When to Give In, How to Push Back"

This book is aimed towards those who are in unhealthy relationships and are looking for advice. He has identified three main personality types that exists in unhealthy relationships- the hero, the field marshal, and the turtle. In this book, he educates readers about what codependency is and what a real relationship is.

I read this book for some insight about some people I love. They do things that just never made sense to me. For example, constantly bailing a child out- at 36 years old- and never allowing him to grow up. Watching this relationship has hurt me because these are people I love. Now, after reading Dr Tim Clinton's book, I can understand the dynamic of their relationship and, hopefully, offer the help that they need.

I recommend this book to anyone who is having relationship problems or in a bad relationship looking for a change. I also recommend it to people who, like me, are watching a destructive relationship from the outside and want to help loved ones.

I recieved this book free of charge in exchange for my honest review

Thanks for stopping by! Alicia

  1. This book is a game-changer for those who need help setting boundaries in their life. Some of us try to hard to control others; others of us allow ourselves to be manipulated, even bullied. This book addresses both these dysfunctions but offers real life examples of how to change. A quote from the book that I loved: “As we move toward healthier relationships, we’ll find ourselves developing a more secure relational style—learning how to identify and communicate thoughts, feelings, and opinions with confidence.” I want that, and this book is helping me to achieve it!
