Book Review: Bible Adventures and Activities

I am always on the lookout for new ways to teach my children about our Catholic faith. Sometimes books look like they would be great additions to our family library and end up falling flat in terms of practicality. When I received Bible Adventures and Activities to review, I was pleasantly surprised.

Bible Adventures and Activities is exactly what the title implies. There are myriad of Bible Adventures in this book and each one also contains an activity to reinforce the story. The Bible stories are easy to read and understand and are fairly short, making this a perfect book for car trips and children who cannot focus for long periods of time.

The artwork in this book is the first thing I noticed. The colorful pictures draw you into the stories and hold the attention of young children. Next, I was happy to finally see a book of Bible Stories for Catholic children. Usually the only place to find books of Bible stories is in the general Christian bookstores. This book is 144 pages long, making it pretty substantial and totally worth every penny it costs. Bible Adventures and Activities is geared toward young children ages 7-11, an age group that you rarely see books specifically devoted to. This book should be on all young children's Christmas lists this year!

This review was written as part of the Catholic book reviewer program from The Catholic Company. Visit The Catholic Company to find more information on Bible Adventures & Activities. The Catholic Company is the best resource for all your family Advent activities and supplies this year, such as Advent wreaths and calendars for kids, as well as Christmas decorations such as nativity scene sets and religious Christmas gifts for the whole family.
